Frenz of The Enz Charity Fundraiser Update

This is just a quick note to remind readers about the Frenz of The Enz Charity Project. This year's project has been running since May of 2007, and the goal is $10,000.


Every few years, the Frenz of The Enz fanclub has a charity project to raise some money so that we can spread a bit more light in the world. This year we've been aiming to build a classroom for one of the poorer countries in the world. It generally costs around $10,000 to do this. Education vastly improves the standard of living for many families and the community in general.

Peter Green and the fanclub (not Frenz.com - we're a seperate entity) are administrating the project, and previous projects have been a great success. We'd like to make this one a big success, and we're very close to reaching our target. As of the 28th of February 2008, we've raised $8741.90. That means we have to raise another $1258.10 - YOU can make it happen!

New Split Enz Site Launched!

Frenz.com is proud to launch it's new Split Enz site at http://www.frenz.com/splitenz/!

When Frenz.com started in 1996, it was initially just the original Split Enz website providing information to fans. As the site grew, the Frenz.com team made a decision to turn the site into a portal for all musical acts related to Split Enz and under the Frenz of The Enz fanclub, moving many of the sections of the original Split Enz site into the main Frenz.com site. As a result, the Split Enz site at Frenz.com has been very quiet for about 8 or 9 years!

We decided to resurrect the Split Enz site as with a band like Split Enz who have such a unique character and vibrancy both in their music and their image, there are plenty of things we can do. We also felt that there wasn't a proper Split Enz homepage on the internet, and we decided to rectify that by resurrecting the original Split Enz homepage.

We have a lot of fun things in the pipeline, and expect the site to be growing and adding pages and features within days. One of the things that's nearly there (and only isn't ready for launch because everybody behind Frenz.com are beyond busy with their day jobs) is a mini site featuring information and photos around the Rootin' Tootin' Luton' Sessions.

We're also in full midst of redeveloping Frenz.com itself, so expect some changes over the course of the next few weeks. Keep your eye on the FrenzWire for news relating to Frenz.com, Crowded House, Tim Finn, and of course Split Enz. Remember you can subscribe to the blog's RSS feed and get the latest updates sent directly to you.

Blog Launched!

We finally decided to launch this thing! The Frenz.com team have decided to move all of the existing newspages into one central blog to keep everyone up to date. Within the next few days, we will be moving the rest of the posts from the Crowded House newsboard to the blog, and over the next few weeks, the old posts from the Neil, Tim, Finn Brothers and Split Enz boards will be moving here. As we move the boards over here, we will gradually be shutting down the old newsboards and re-directing them here. Allow me to introduce the team:

Peter Green: President of the incredible, the legendary, the invincible "Frenz of The Enz" fan club. Peter will be posting his news posts here from now on :)

Iarla O'Halloran: frenz.com/crowdedhouse/ webmaster. I'll generally be adding any other news pieces I come across to the blog, and adding any additional info sent by the bands

Tracy Nicol: Frenzforum Crowded House moderator. Tracy will be adding news pieces, reviews and web links here as they crop up.

Debbie Levitt: frenz.com webmistress. Deb will be posting any items of frenz.com news here as well as overseeing everything to make sure it's all up to Frenz.com standards :)

What we hope to achieve with the blog is to have a definitive news resource for all things Frenz-related. If you see a news piece or review that you think merits inclusion here - Please email either myself or Tracy, and we'll get it up. You can currently subscribe to this blog via RSS, and we will continue to work all aspects of the blog until it's just right. We're incredibly late launching, but we're also doing it early as we there's some exciting news on the way. - Iarla
