Oh, they owe me SO much more, including an apology for the libel and to clean that up.
Edit: I just noticed that I got a full refund. I wonder why others are only getting a pro-rated refund? We should all be getting full refunds.
So the IMA is going to throw out everybody who doesn't agree. That's really a shame. You now get to have your very own club and treehouse, and anybody who stands up to lies, inconsistent behaviour, and unethical behaviour just has to go. Funny how the people lying, being inconsistent, and being unethical not only get to stay, but get to run the organisation!
Well, I will continue pursuing the refund of the rest of my money plus damages. They will not get away with what they did.
Item Significantly Not As Described, IMA.

The IMA threw out a bunch of people this morning - including us. Not sure how many of us got the boot, but I'm guessing it was anyone who does not agree with the current Hitler tactics being taken by the acting BOD's.

Ben and Steve get a bad rap.. which they deserve. But Cathy, is a lying, conniving, manipulating, power hungry nutjob. Somehow she flies under the radar.

Sad. They're letting all the good ones go, so all they'll have left is Charlie and his hear no evil, see no evil posts.
I suspect they are trying to boot me, but haven't quite figured out a valid reason just yet. You can stifle the voices of dissent in a group, but you can't stop the trainwreck's that already started.
Go get em Deb ;)

I hope you do get an attorney and do pursue this. I also hope something comes from the calls to the Florida State Attorney General's office. I am so sad to see the organization fail like this, but even if the board is removed it isn't worth staying as a member because all the good business people have been driven off. The board from here on out will just be inside jokes and whining about how eBay sucks. Hardly a business group. Anyone with business sense would run for the hills so that leaves.....

The thing is they can throw anyone out for any reason. All they have to do is issue a refund on the remaining membership dues.
They are rewriting the by-laws to fit their needs.

Debbie, weren't you also tossed from PESA also? IMA bylaws state you can be terminated at any time. Just curious.

Hi, IMA Member. Here is the story on PESA.
I was a member early on in late 2003. I saw Joe doing lots of inconsistent things, and I called him on it (sound familiar? :) ). For example, he used to delete my posts and Wingo's posts like mad for no reason. When asked why, he declared that nobody who had "financial interest" in listing software should be posting. I told him that 1) I had no financial interest in listing software, so he couldn't delete me for that reason, and 2) if he's going to make up a rule on the fly like that, then it goes for everybody... and he (Joe) would have to stop listing because he has Meridian.
He didn't like that, and I got an email (still have it) saying that in order for PESA to work, everybody needs to think alike. I wasn't thinking alike, so I had to be removed from the group.
Joe threw me out.
Evidently, I was somewhat popular and somewhat missed as I got invited back a few months later. I rejoined.
I quit in early 2005 having already quit the Marketing Committee because I found PESA just too negative. I felt like every statement was anti-eBay and the whole vibe just didn't work with what I wanted to put out there. I didn't want to be associated with a group that was that negative.
I loved the members, but I never got along with Joe or Ben. Same for IMA. I love most of the members, and hope they will stay in touch.
Hey, some people don't like the person who's not afraid to say in public, "The Emperor has no clothes on." That'll be me, and if it gets me thrown out of places, I'm OK with that. I just can't stand lies and inconsistency!

All I can say is after reading through all the posts, I am glad I have not joined IMA. Several members have sent me info and tried recruiting. I was seriously considering in until I saw all these posts. I would not touch it with a long ten foot pole.
Regardless, of what they say, any organization or business experiencing this much membership and BOD trouble, has some serious internal issues.
